Lightning Newb

I bought a 2001 Lightning a couple weeks ago and I am VERY happy with my choice.I had the Limo tint put on and a new stereo system but now Im ready to get serious.Id like to start with a new exhaust/header system. As you can see from the pic my exhaust tips look a little rough and I would like to improve the sound.I checked www.lightningparts.com but only saw the Bassani parts. Are these what I want?Should I change the headers too?Any advice from the experienced Lightning guys would be much appreciated.

Hey, welcome man good to have you aboard, nice L and nice color too. If you are going to get serious with the mods then start with a chip or programmer, pulley and cold air intake with a good safe tune. The exhaust won't give you much performance but will help when you're making some serious hp like over 450 rwh. If it's sound you want then the full bassani exhaust is it but more expensive than the others. Magnaflow or JDM Silver Bullet sounds good and less expensive, your choice. Good luck and enjoy the site and your new ride.

Bert.

Welcome to the board. And congrats on your Purchase. If you really want the best you can ge headers wise I would go with Kooks. Cat back Bassani is very nice it has alittle bit different sound than the JDM silver bullet. You should hear both of them then see which one you like better.

Thumbs up

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to F150 online. I call tell you that the Magnaflow sounds good. But all our tastes are different, so it may be a good Idea to listen to some sound clips and them make a decision.

I would spend sometime reading and searching different topics first. It will give you a good foundation as to what folks do to these trucks. Choose your mods wisely (after a little research) and happy modding.
