You can make more overall power with nitrous and less boost. Reason being is that nitrous is more dense and cools the charge.
Unless you have a weak component, there is no reason you can't use a 150-200 shot on a stock motor with a good tune. Reliable power levels will depend on the kit, along with either using a fixed hit or progressive set-up.

I agree Denny,
Schitt if we can throw 100 HP at mine with like 15-17lbs of boost,
you can surely throw more HP at it, with less Boost
(and I've never even had a Dyno tune)
halcyon, there are some old post on NLOC with Brothers running 75 HP and NO CHIP or other Mods, I just looked and couldn't find them, (sorry) but I've read a few and people had great results
