Trans Filter

Today I ordered a FTVB and Moroso pan. What filter do I need and where can I get it? Also what transmission fluid do I need to use, and how much?

Stock filter for the Moroso pan and get DEXTRON III/MERCON trans fluid and does not have to be Motorcraft either.

Buy at least 12qts. add 7qts. start truck and with foot on brake go through each gear. Check level and add as needed but don't over fill.

The Moroso pan is an easy install.

And make sure you use a torque wrench. Good luck. You won't be disappointed.

I thought you had to get a bigger filter, like the one with the pan 4X4 pan. Also do I need a in/lbs trq. wrench or ft/lbs?

I did not use the stock filter with the Moroso pan. I believe I got the filter p/n from the Moroso web site. The filter I used has a longer neck.

Has everything been ok so far? Do I need to get a filter from Ford or can it be bought at any autoparts store?

Per the Moroso web site....

Transmission Pan, Ford Lightning E40D/4R100, 3.642 inch depth. Use Motorcraft Filter Part No, FT113

That's the filter I used.

Yes you do need an inch torque wrench.

The 4x4 filter neck is too long for the Moroso pan, I know cause I used my 4x4 filter and it dimpled the Moroso pan.

USE STOCK FILTER you bought and enjoy.
