I am getting my windows tinted in my truck and need to know how dark to get it done. Could someone plese post pics of red Lightnings with window tint? Thanks!

 

Depends on if you don't mind rolling your window down to back up. I have 5% on mine ( back and sides ) and love it.

 

i have 15% on my sides and it looks good but i think 5 would look better.

20% is the legal limit in FLA.

 

In Georgia we don't have a legal limit.

 

Heres a pic of my red 99 with 20% on the sides, 5% on the back window. Probably not the best pic to see the tint, but you get the idea.

Georgia will be implementing a new regulation sometime soon. Typically most states allow 35%. I would say 25% is reasonable and will keep you from being harassed. If you're young (20's) then expect to possibly have more problems with your tint if it's to dark. 5% is way to dark and unsafe for a front window.

 

BTW, anyone with tint "too dark" will not be allowed to race at Fun Ford Weekend events starting this coming year.

I don't know the exact wording of the new rule, but they are suposed to be cracking down this year.

I quess they are going by IHRA/NHRA rukes on tint. They need to be able to see the driver.

 

I can tell you that I have 20 on the sides and 5 on the back of my 94 L and it is too light.You can see everything inside and even make out faces at night.I am fixing to have my 99 tinted and I have been pondering the % for a while.My other cars in the past have all had 5% all the way around.Loved it.But I fish for a living now and I am in reverse with my boat as much as I am forward it seems.Sliding back glass is a quick fix,but I also have to roll down the windows to use the mirrors.

My buddy had 5 on the back,15 on the sides and 20 covering the front of his 94 and it was very dark because of the front having the light tint also.Depends on how strict your state is on checking tint i guess.Heck...ive just posted this and I still have no idea what I am putting on my Gen 2...lol.
