Beware of loser scammers from your classified ads

F'in foriegners can not stand them.(not offense my overseas L brothers)
I have a few things for sale in classified section. I get an email saying I am very interested in your sub box. Will you accept certified cashier "cheque" for payment.
I get 3 emails yesterday for my 3 ads for one guy and I tell him I will take a check and ship out only when the check clears. He never responsded. Today I get the same email about another thing in classified that I post a month ago and forgot about for a different email address asking if I would accept a certified "cheque". I said yes but would prefer paypal.

I think get an email saying that someone owes him $2500 and he is going to send me the check or should i say cheque and when it clears if I could refund him the difference and send it to London
This is a scam I read about and all of you should be aware.

You get the check, deposit it, ship out product, then it bounces and you are screwed or something like that.
BEWARE of scammers offering you to send a Cheque.

This is the internet, anyone who ships a for-sale item WITHOUT waiting for a check to clear completely is asking for a hurting.

I got a bunch of those as well. DanSS2471 actually received a Discover check that turned out to be no good when he called Discover.

What happens is the money shows up in your account in a couple of days, and when the bank finds out it is no good, they take the full amount of the check out, and your item is already shipped (because you saw the money in the account.

This is a very good website that tells you about how the scams work and which checks or escrow companied are bad.

Halflife, tell me what the email address is. I am selling a car and a person from London sent me this email. Tell me if this follows what your dealing with.

: HELLO,
good to be picked up from your location for onward shipping to London. Cost and modalities of shipping to be born by me. Payment for the purchase is by check through a debtor in US. The debtor owes me higher than my purchase($3500). He will therefore be sending you a check to cover the cost of my order,as well as the Shipping costs. On receipt of the check, you will cash and deduct the cost of my order .The balance you will send via western union to the shipping agent, as we would instruct you to the Agency that will ship the Goods to us. If this arrangement suites you fine, please send me your address where to send the check, as well as the name to be on the check. Also send me your phone number for easy communication.

NOTE: All cost of cashing the check at the cash point or money store should be deducted from the funds when cleared. Looking forward to hear from you.

This looks suspicious as the day is long to me

Just reply to the dipshiit "have the US debtor send the correct amount" not more.

so your going to get a check for more than the amount.....whats wrong with that it happens all the time.

I do that alot....I just bought some slicks for 300, but I sent the guy a cashiers check for a thousand and had him send 700 to me via western union.

I cant count the number of times I sent more money than was required for a purchase.....

That is a great way to do business. I'll have to forward his email address to some of my friends in Nigeria.

I've received a few of these for my Passport for sale. Sadly, it's an Internet fact of life and nothing we can really do anything about...other than help educate people that list classifieds here. It's a scam, and sadly, some people won't ever acknowledge it.

I think there was a website,

www.419eater.com

Well anyway, somewhere there's this group of people that really mess with these nigerian scammers, by asking them to do obnoxious things and have their pictures taken doing it, they even scam the nigerians out of money, only it's like 30-60 bucks at a time.

All this gets posted to the website from the authors like,

Hibeen Farteen,
Fill McCrakin

Well, the stories these scammer scammers come up with are hilarious!
