Finally got my first kill in the L
Finally got my first kill in the L
Sat night I finally got my first kill in my 03 L. I raced my friend who drives a 96 dodge indy pace truck ram. Hes got a 406 stroker with a 150 shot of NOS on it. Hes ran 8.000 in the 1/8. We always talk bout racin but never did, well sat we did. We went to a local bottom for some street racin. I hooked pretty well and he spun bad. I pulled him hard out of the hole and the closest he got was up to my fender as i shifted from first to second. After that I just started pullin away and ended up bout a truck or two ahead. I thought it was a good race with him having a stroker and me just basically stock.

Good kill, get some mod's on your truck for when he decides to spray you the next time, then you'll really upset his apple cart!!
Sincerely,
Bryan
He didnt spray this time. The 8.0 is in a short 1/8 60 ft shorter than usual. I ran a 8.38 on first pass right after a 30 min drive.I figure that we will be a good race on the street when he sprays cause he cant hook and i can.

I think I had an 8.5??8.6 stock at Cecil. If he isn't hooking you're correct, doesn't stand a chance! Must have a heavy right foot!LOL!Bryan
my 8.38 is probly a 8.6 or so in a full 1/8. The track i run at is 60 ft shorter than a regular 1/8.

Street racing is a lot different than track, and yes because you were stock you could basically slam the gas pedal to the floor and hook up pretty good and that's where you have an advantage. If you had other mods like pulleys you would have to learn to launch all over again because traction becomes an issue. Good kill BTW.
we race the 1/8s most of the time cause its the closest track. One place we race on the street is a 1/4 but most dont like racing that one. I like the 1/4 better cause it feels like im just waking up real good on the tail end of the 1/8.
