RUSLOW Harness Bar

Don't we really need a tab welded on that shoots the upper mounting point forward a couple of inches from its current location? I don't care a lick about being able to adjust the height -- I need it at max height all the time.
Plus, I'm probably going to paint my black bar gray to match the plastic anyway (and the bar did not ship well, so it's semi-FUBARed already).

Another thought is that my belts are just about two years old anyway. So I wonder if I should just go with latch-and-link belts (I currently have camlock) and be done with it.
It would not get rid of the ricer street-racer look inherent in using 3" harnesses to go get the milk, but are latch-and-link pretty easy to get in and out of for daily driver use?

If you pull the belt out, it rides right along the pointy corner, doesn't it? Not what I want when I hit something at 30 g's.

If you look, he actually has the older harness bar like me. Our "support" bar is in the middle of the harness bar, not down the side like yours is, I don't know if that changed the shape of that plate at all.

Cliff,
The bar is not going to hurt the stock belt no matter how many g's you crash at. Maybe the pic does not show it correctly but it works fine has does not damage the stock belkts at all. The belt DOES NOT come in contact with the point on the bar at all. The only thing I worried about was the fact that the bolt just barely came through the nut all the way. Since the new one's are different you may have problems I don't have with the older design. I do think the new design is stronger than what I have bolted to the floor.

so I don't think that changed. I'll take another pic in the
morning showing the belt movement ...
Anyone else get theirs installed yet?
Tim, you won't get max height anymore ... The bar only
allows about two clicks up from the bottom.
Jerry, maybe something about the thickness changed. My
bolt wouldn't even engage halfway with the S/B on the same
mount point ... As to the "pointy" plate, my belt (when you pull
it out) runs dead center up the middle of the belt material. And
it has a kink so it is actually pressed into the point.
I dunno ... But I'm working on a solution.....
As to the Stock mount point ... after the install and torque down
you can see in this pic what the bolt will support for length....
Unless there is a way to lengthen that bolt ... And then the
fabric rub becomes an issue again ...

OK ...
Ghead ... because very few six point harnesses are DOT legal,
and buckling up in a race harness to get a quart of milk (As my
friend Tim is wont to point out) is a PITA. Also, this makes a
great camera mount point
