Talking Nitto DR street launching tips

Hey Guys!

Me and the boys have a little race going on this friday and I need some advice for launching.

I'm running 305 Nittro DR's with a 2400 PI TQ and I will be on pavement(the street) .

Any tips on street launching would be great,.

I ran a hair under 500RHWP on the last dyno and that was about 20-25 degrees hotter than it is now.

Thanks,
Tony

What part of the country are you in? If it's below 70 degrees, you better launch as if youre on F1s. 555Rs DO NOT like cold temps.

Otherwise, just make sure you've driven a few miles before the race to heat them up. If you can, do a quick burnout before you launch. Don't raise the revs upon launch. Come out a little soft and then punch it.

Good luck!

Go on and practice where you'll be racing. Thats the best way. Then you'll know what that type of pavements likes ( that smooth pavement hooks diff. than the "rocky" type).

I would make sure you are on some concrete and do a nice burnout....

I saw a guy last weekend hook on a set of 17 inch nittos on the street racing one of my buddys.... so it can be done......

If it was for money I would try to prep the lane before anyone got out there!!! LOL!!!
