Help!!!!!! (diablosport issues)
Help!!!!!! (diablosport issues)
I REALLY need to get to the bottom of this!!!!!
(1999 L)
I got my truck recently, It had a red diablosport chip installed with no problems at all for 3 months. I loved the way it drove.
Then, prior to installing a 6lb lower pulley, I sent the chip out to a tuner to be reburned.(honestly, I don't know if they even did anything b/c they never asked for payment, and it took them 2 months to get it back to me).
I installed the pulley, checked/cleaned the contacts on the PCM, installed the chip, L starts rough, cuts off after 2 seconds (a few times).
I removed the chip and the truck starts and runs excellent.
...............So I sent the chip out to a different tuner, got it back and w/ the chip in, the truck won't even start this time, chip out it starts fine.
I havn't got in touch with the second tuner, so the jury is still out, they may have some insight, but anyone have any ideas!?!?!?

I'm guessing of course but sometimes the contacts on the chip can lose their clamping/contact force. I'm not talking about "cleanliness" but the ability of every one of the chip's contacts to adhere positively to the PCM's contact 'strips'. You might try forming each pair of contacts a tad closer togeather to increase their clamping force but do it carefully, a little 'squeeze' at a time.
If that doesn't work, then it may be time for a new chip.
