Why not just have the steel inserts put in your set of heads?

You have to pull the heads to put those incerts in correct? With that in mind if I pull the heads the stockers will not go back on...I'll get some stg 2 or 3 heads...most likely stg 2.

HI!... I did my TIME SERTS (big sert) on the engine. No problem. Takes about 30 minutes per hole.

Jeff,

We have a set on the shelf and ready to ship. They are $995.00 and can be seen here:

http://www.razorsedgemotorsports.com...duct_info.php?

These have the oversized stainless valves but are not ported heads. If you want the ported heads, they are also in stock and are here:

http://www.razorsedgemotorsports.com...roducts_id=171

Ask any question you want right here and we will answer, or give us a call for more info.

I had my stock heads ported about a year or two ago and added the 1MM over sized valves & now the inserts.

So 995 per head with no porting or no cam correct?
Also are they the 8 thread heads or do they have incerts installed?

Neal you installed those incerts while your heads were on the engine and in your L? I was under the impression that the heads had to be off...
Can you e-mail me the details? Thanks jchudd@comcast.net

Thats 995 for the pair. The o/s valve heads are the later ones with more threads. The ported ones are the earlier style with fewer threads. They are exchange. (we need your old heads)

Be careful using inserts. They are steel and hold and transfer a lot more heat than the aluminum around them. If you are going high HP, I would suggest not using them. We also go with a colder plug when using inserts.

Is it best to do heads and cams at the same time (other than for the convenience of labor)...

Also, are there any significant gains to be found with ported heads and/or cams on a lightly modded (4# lower pulley) truck?

And finally, how labor intensive is the swap? For just heads? Cams also? I assume it's out of my league but was wondering what a reasonable ballpark quote would be for shop labor on those items.
