Moroso pan.

I am interested in a new trans pan. I like the Moroso one because it does'nt hang down further than the stock one, and it holds 3 extra quarts. Without the cooling fins will it get hot enough while racing to worry about, or should I get one with cooling fins like the FRPP or the B&M pan?

plenty of people use the stock fan and it doesn't have any fins.

adding the additional 3 quarts will help reduce fluid temps.

But the Moroso pan is thicker, do you think it will hold in heat more than the others?

It's SOLID aluminum, though, whereas the others are porous sand cast.

I can't say for sure, but I would bet that it is as effective as a finned cast pan.

Anything aluminum will dissapate heat better than a steel pan. Steel hold heat quite a bit more than aluminum.

That is a nice looking pan. Too bad I just bought the 4x4 pan.

That pan is awesome. If I hadn't already purchased a finned aluminum pan (MAC/B&M/FRPP), I would definitely opt for the Moroso.

Does the Moroso pan really have the same depth as the stock one? I thought it really hung lower.

Your best bet is to add another cooler if you want to reduce tranny temps.

It is as low as stock unlike the Ford 4x4 pan. The drain plug is to the side to avoid hitting anything. Especially nice for lowered vehicles. It holds 3 to 4 quarts more fluid..

For those of you who are worried about clearance issues. Here are a couple shots of it installed. You can see that it barely hangs lower then the frame cross member. It is slightly deeper then the stock pan, but doesn't hang near as low as the 4x4 pan.
