there is a special kit you need to buy.

If you buy another stock '99 intercooler it will leak. I don' t think they make them anymore.

If you buy the 2001 - present, the bolt holes are different and the lower manifold runners are different.

YOU NEED TO BUY:
the kit.

Perform 01B81 for leaking intercooler P05 repair
Cause: 33211 Perform 01B81 recall. Replace intercooler
01B81B 01B81B/ Replace supercharge intercooler sub-assembly

what is your E-mail address!

screw it... here's something to read

All Ford Vehicles have an Emission warranty for 8 years or 80,000 miles.
A leaky I/C will Fould your O2 sensors and clog your catalytic convertors.
This is a federal Law C.F.R. somethinhg or another, that Mandates Ford to ensure the Emissions of the vehicle is up to par for 8/80. While doing some research I have concluded this may be the best way to go. I have told about 10 people within the last week who have this problem the same thing. Hope it works.
READ BELOW.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ford made 3 intercooler kits.
1. 99-00 Leaky stock intercooler
2. 99-00 Non-leaking stock intercooler with SPECIAL manifold 10 row
3. 01-present Stock intercooler 10 row

Now, IF you get a 01-present intercooler it will not work with your blower. you MUST have a -01-present blower.

The KIT that ford made to correct this problem is EXTREMELY LIMITED AND VERY HARD TO FIND. you are going to have a hell of a time locating one. If someone knows what they are worth, expect to spend a pretty penny!.
If you can find a dealership that has one the retail is over $700.
It si one big box that has upper and lower manifold and the intercooler.
the exact part numbers can be found by using the SEARCH buttong on top and type in intercooler.
I've posted about this a thousand times.

Read my post above on what I did and went through.

So your truck can have the upgraded intercooler with the '99-00 blower, it simply has the KIT on it.
(same thing my truck has right now)

The upgraded intercooler kit is just a 99-00 manifold[redesigned to hold the 01 cooler] with the 01 and up cooler in it. I have a few extra manifolds[holds the cooler] that I MIGHT part with.Since I am getting ready to build my own cooler.Stan

How can I find out if my truck has had the IC Recall/Campaign work done? I am not the original owner.

I ran the VIN before buying the L and warranty work was done in it's first year or so, and something else was done before it was even pruchased off the lot, but I forget what it was listed as.

I fill the IC resevior to about 2/3 full, then in a month or so, its less than 1/3. Where is all this going? It runs perfectly though.

I'll check the heat X-changer, see if thats it................

Any help is great.

Being sucked into the engine and out the exhaust if the intercooler is leaking.
The intercooler is located UNDER your supercharger.

the intercooler is NOT the heat exchanger under your bumper
