When you went from a 4 to a 6 lbs
When you went from a 4 to a 6 lbs
Ok... When you went from a 4lbs pulley to a 6lbs pulley, what were your gains in the 1/4 mile.......... I am thinking about doing this mod, with a revelation chip and dyno tune....

My time went down but it was marginal until I installed the heat exchanger and went from Diablo Delta chip the Revolutions chip. So, not sure what caused the drop...could of been combination of all and a good dyno tune.
hmmm..
I went from a 3# lower to a 6# lower and apten porting.
I was previously at 397rwhp and went to 435rwhp
1/4 dropped from 13.01 (the temp was in the 20's!!!!!!) (yes 20's)
to a 12.84 when the temp was in the 70's.
I expect that number to drop considerably with cooler weather, but I parked the lightning for the season.

I think most of the increase when I went to the 6 punder was in
the torque at the bottom end ... I dunno ... that's just what the
dyno showed

It all comes down to the efficiency operating range/rpms.
IMO for the smallest out of pocket cash -vs- power improvement.... a 4# lower and a ported blower is the best bang for the buck.
A 6# lower really spins a eaton too much. Sure you'll get gains over a smaller pulley. But there is always a trade off when your up against the *efficiency* wall. (I'm talking about the "typical" bolt on mods)

I understand that the blower will spin much faster with a 6LB vs a 4LB, but what was the difference in torque at lower RPM's. Could you definitely tell that you were running a larger pulley? (Seat of the pants) . Is it like moving from a 2LB to a 4LB?
Because I am seriously considering a 4lb pulley, but if the 6 is better might go that route.

Honestly Fowl,
I have pulled on 95% of the 6# trucks I have ever ran. It's always the same thing too. Off the line they'd pull me by a truck length then the rest of the run I'd pull them and usually pass before crossing the line.
(Keep in mind I have a very good dyno tune from REM)

All my mods are listed on my web page.
And just for the record my trap speeds were usually right at the 109.5mph mark. This last time out I played a few "tricks" to help the top speed. ETs were about the same-to-slightly better but the speeds were up both on my ET streets and on the new 305-55s (mostly engine room air flow improvements I think helped top speed)
