about to buy a lightning
im pretty set on a 2000 silver lightning. it has 48k miles and the dealer is asking $16,900. truck is in damn good condition. i ran a carfax and it's clean. im already thinking of mods. i just want the car to be a 12 second car; for now at least. i know to do this i have to get a chip, but as far as air intake do i need to get a whole cold air intake system? or should i just get a k&n filter? what else do i need? i need to be cost effective after buying this thing right now. thanks guys - cant wait to be a member.

DO NOT BUY IT UNLESS THE INTERCOOLER WAS CHANGED!!!!!!
if it hasn't been changed, you WILL HAVE TO REPLACE IT.
Expect $800 in parts plus labor...
However, Ford only made al imited number of kits, so that is of course IF you can find one. They are very very difficult to find. Most dealers can't get them

I got my '99 in Jan of '03 with just over 3,000 (three thousand) miles for $17,000.
