Strange Dyno day!

I installed my Anderson ford motorsports wideband O2 monitor and found that on my race program it was real rich(10.4:1 or so). So I decide to go to the dyno today to see where I was at power wise. I ran my race program which i normally run 100 octane on 93 octane. I figured with 19 degrees advanced and 10.4:1 A/F I would be ok. So first run I get 451.6 HP and 541 TQ (11.6:1) being the highest A/F and dipping down to like 11.2 with no detonation or anything. So I deside to switch the program to the street side with 16 degees timing(SCT flash tuner) and make another pass. No cool down or anything and I pull 459.75 HP and 555.1 TQ with 12.0 being the highest A/F at 4000RPM then dropping into the mid to low 11's. So my question is what is up with my race program. The funny thing is I have run multiple 11.8's in the quarter @113-114MPH on the race side.

Yeah I am going to run it on the street side next time. Yeah but i watched live data and on my higher HP street side i have 16 degrees of timing versus 19 on my Race side. I am just wondering if my race side is fixed if i cant pick up like 20 horse over my stock program.

I'm thinking this has to do with the fact your using higher octane gas for a lower octane tune (if i understood you correctly)

Higher octane gas i believe is lower in energy overall, so if you don't take advantage of it with timing, perhaps your losing a lot of power.

Timing is about flame fronts meeting pistons at the proper moment, sounds like your safe, but your not really doing what you ought to.

But talk to a tuner, i'm sure someone can fix you right up.

there's something else here that will explain it logically im just too tired to think it out right now.
