calipers

Are there any RED calipers out there that won't cost you a ton?
I guess I could paint the stock ones red, but not sure how that would hold up....any ideas or pics?

Thanks

Painting them is not very difficult. The first problem is removing any silicone based material (like ArmorAll) that has gotten on them. Use lacquer thinner to clean them well and then apply a coat of "Bulldog" spray can primer. Kragen, Autozone etc. carry it. It is an "adhesion promoter" to make the paint stick better. Then simply use a high temp red paint - barbeque paints, header paints or VHT will work just fine. If you are careful with the masking, you don't even need to remove the caliper. If your truck is red, like mine, the next step may be as follows:

When you are done, you'll have a nice bright red rotor showing through the wheel. Mount the wheel, stand back and look at it and make a decision. I did. I took the wheel back off, sprayed another layer of Bulldog over the red, re-shot them in silver and said "that's better". There's a fellow on eBay advertising SVT and Lightning vinyl graphics (about $13.00) which stick on the calipers. I put a set of red graphics on the silver calipers, and that's the way mine stayed.

Paint cost me like 5 bucks for high temp engine paint from Pep boys, its actually a perfect Ford red, my luck, hehe, it matches my truck perfectly cause i actually painted the little covers on my bumper where the licence plate goes. Also what I did for the white Lightning emblems, I found the Lightning emblem on the net, printed it out to the correct size i needed, took it to a vinal shop, they scanned it and cleaned it up a bit and by the end of the day i had two Lightning stickers and they only charged my 5 bucks.

Looks nice, but wouldn't the vinyl stickers melt?

Or was the a reverse sticker and you painted it white??
