Do you need a new filter if you just purchase the VB and not the pan? Since my truck is lowered. Thanks

Ford says you don't need one, but my rule has always been, if you drop the pan, change the filter, but never drop the pan TO change the filter. It's only $20 at Autozone. I get them for less than half that, but I buy them in cases of 96.

I just got mine yesterday and I can't wait to put it in. It also comes included with some drama in case you don't get enough here

You will see what I mean when you open up the plastic the valve body comes in.

I did the valve body and I must say it's pretty easy. It is cake compared to the valve body I had to replace in my moms 99 suburban (giving code p1870). This had no check ***** and only 11 screws or so.

If you want to save yourself an ATF bath, pop a hole in your original pan if you are replacing the pan with another.

Sorry I couldn't take any pics but there was atf everywhere!

As for the way it feels, awesome is the only word. You know that feeling you get when you wonder if you probably spent a little too much money on one small part? That all went out the window with the first WOT blast. Normal driving is rewarded with nice shifts (not hard). Anything past half throttle and you get a nice chirp from 1st to 2nd and the more throttle, the harder the shift. Hardest shift seems to be between 2nd and 3rd but even at WOT it is not harsh.

Oh, Now I remember! Some day they'll lock me in a closet to keep me from doing things like that!

haha. I'm not going to say what it is but it was pretty disturbing reading.

I hope nothing happens like that to me when my upgrades get larger

Thanks for the heads up

it has nothing to do with the tranny nor the valve body. It's just some supplemental reading on someone elses situation.
