Whipple??

I want to get my hands on one soooooo bad!! So anyways when is this new blower going out on the market? I am so excited it is rediculous. I saw the post a little while back but have not heard any updates since. Anyone with the inside scoop let me know. 11's are nice but 10's are better.

The kit has already been designed and tested. The biggest hangup is that Whipple can't get the 2.3L s/c from Lyscholm right now due to the GT production.

We should have them in short order.

BTW, the Whipple kit will have the intake plenum running into the s/c from the drivers side (its actaully a spin-off of the 5.4L 3v kit). We have seen this design and are sure that alot of people would rather have their throttle body in the stock position so we are contemplating making our own kit with an intake plenum putting the t/b in the stock location. We'll see how the Whipple kit sells, then make a decision.

The whipple didn't seem to make any more power than the KB on the Cobra in MM+FF. Is whipple claiming that it will make more power than th KB?

Apten Whipple

I was told that last year Apten was working with Whipple to bring out a supercharger for Lightnings. Apten dropped the project, because the Whipple wasn't making that much more HP than their ported Eatons.

If you guys think that whipple will somehow make a blower that won't outperform the KB or the apten, then you are insane.

Whipple is just a better fit and finish, production, and tested blower than anything else I have seen.

Procharger would be my next option over the whipple, but that's alot of work, with no bolt on kit.

The KB has been used quite a bit by the Lightning crowd, but I'm just not convinced it's worth the money....hopefully whipple will show me something worth buying

The test in MM+FF was not impressive. As for the KB not being worth the money, It is my only real mod and I'm trapping 115.8mph.

Yes, but I started modding before the KB came out. Not sayin it doesn't work, but it's just not worth 4 grand to me.

If I had it to do all again, I would probably have just added a works140 when they were available much the way you did the KB

Man; you buying that KB threw JDM or something. 4k is a hell of a markup

OK, here's the story guys. In early January I took my supercharger to Apten to have it ported. At the time Brian was at Apten, and I asked him about aftermarket superchargers. Brian told me that he was working with Whipple to develope a supercharger for the Lightnings.

Fast forward to two weeks ago. I was at Stiegemeieres (Apten's machinist). I asked Bob Stiegemeiere what ever happened with their Whipple testing. Bob told me they dropped the whipple program, because the whipple wasn't making that much more horsepower than the ported Eatons.

Just what I was told. But, it did come straight from Apten.

Gotcha. Your right, I went straight with the KB because I'm lazy and wanted a combo that was proven. I didn't want to have break any new ground. I did enough fabrication on my TT mustang to make me be lazy this time. The KB is only $3k by the way.
If the whipple does come out and compete with the KB that would be a good thing, just seems like its one of those things that has been just about to happen for years.
