I was at Stiegemeieres (Apten's machinist). I asked Bob Stiegemeiere what ever happened with their Whipple testing. Bob told me they dropped the whipple program, because the whipple wasn't making that much more horsepower than the ported Eatons.
Just what I was told. But, it did come straight from Apten.

To the beliver...no eplanation is necessary. To the non-beliver...no explanation is possible.
I belive each product has it's own pros and cons. I for one, would like to see some dyno #'s on all three (Apten, Whipple, KB) from a truck with the same mods.
Interesting.....

NOW TAKING ORDERS FOR 02’-04’ 5.4L MODELS
Power from tip in to redline, the new Whipple SC system for the 98-04 5.4L engines make over 50% power across the entire rpm range. With the massive SVT Ford Lighting 5” intercooler mounted inside the Ford Racing intake manifold, the 2.3L Whipple twin screw supercharger creates nearly 8psi of boost with virtually zero increase in air temperature. A reflashed PCM takes care of all the necessary engine functions including the new higher flowing fuel injectors, complete knock control, transmission operation and spark control. Systems come complete with a new high-flow air intake system, high-flow fuel injectors, intake manifold, air-to-water intercooler, air-bypass system and all the necessary parts for a simple installation.
No other supercharger kit on the market today can compete with the power throughout the entire rpm range nor the reliability and durability of the package. Whipple Superchargers performs more OEM style testing on each package than most supercharger companies combined. This research and development gives you the peace of mind that your vehicle will run reliably and efficiently. Other companies supply you with rising rate regulators (FMU’s), something that simply does not meet an acceptable standard.
Whipple Features:
Instant boost, zero lag time
No complicated air ducting like air-to-air intercooled systems
2.3L twin-screw supercharger (as used on the Ford GT and 06’ Lighting)
Massive Ford Lighting intercooler core
Looks factory installed
Includes high-flow air intake system
Most advanced system available today
Reflashed factory PCM for industry leading reliability and operation
Self contained oil system, no tapping oil pan
High flow fuel injectors
Boost-a-pump for increased fuel flow

Yes the kit pictured is for a regular F150 and not for a Lightning that much i know. I heard that the Lightning version is somewhere in the neighborhood of 2800 bucks.

Anyone besides me catch on to the "complete knock control" statement>??? Any more info on this. Granted this is if you install the kit on a N/A 5.4L, but by reading that is seems they are ending up with a VERY similr combo we would have with the Whipple(we would have the lower compression ratio still of course). Anyone care to comment>??? -Mat-
According to the owner of Whipple the 2.3 street legal blower will be about $2895. It is direct competition for the KB and priced accordingly. They claim it will out-perform it.
I'm waiting for the 3.3; that one will definitely move more air than any other roots blower out there for our trucks. It should be 6-8 weeks behind the 2.3

One things for sure, it'll be Mo Better looking..........

They show some specs on a 3.3L here
