Chris, I am not debating whether Sal is a good guy or not. I am sure he is very nice to people who he deals with on a daily basis.
My point was thats an awfully bold claim, to have invented/designed the lower crank pulley. And I stand by my .02
But thanks for the a-hole comment anyway, its nice to see the lines in the sand, just so you know where it is.

Chris,
This is a total aside but I was wondering why you went with JDM for the 'Engine of Doom II'? It seems that you're pretty tight with Sal, so I figured you'd have him hook you up after the first motor went south. If Jim gave you a super-smoking deal (which is between you and him) than it's completely understandable. It just struck me as odd since you have always been such a large proponent of Sal.

so I'm not certain exactly what you mean by the above statement, but I hope it doesn't mean that we are on opposite sides of the line or enemies or anything like that. my intention was not to create a problem between you and I. I was just pointing out that in my opinion you were being a little harsh. In hindsight, I probably should have worded it differently.
it was just one person's view of the preceding posts.
I know that you are every bit as much entitled to your view on the original subject matter.
this is the second day in a row I've found myself at odds with another board member for no real reason. maybe it's me?
anyway, sorry if I was out of line. no harm intended.

at the time the motor broke I was in a bad position financially and I'm still recovering from that. at that same time Sal had just opened his new shop and gotten his new dyno, and was trying to get his centrifigal s/c up and running on the red truck. Sal offered his help, but I knew that he already had his hands full with enough to worry about without getting involved in my problems.
JDM was able to step up and really offer me a good package on a quality engine to get my truck up and running again asap.
although I know that there is at times alot of animosity (sp?) between the competing vendors and their respective customers in this community. I have alot of respect for both Jim and Sal and what they've done in the Ford performance world.
anyway, back to the original point of this thread, the discussion of torque converter / water pump holding straps and whatnot.

later,
chris

The cageless crank pulley was created by ASP. You merely supplied them the stock piece to spec off of.
I think I am gonna take credit for designing the the short radio antenna on my truck. Its the same theory, I took the existing piece, made a new one, and installed it. Sure other people have made these before, but mine was different, and I put a JM on the end of the SKU #.
Oh, and you should stop whorin around in other peoples threads, it was directed to JLP not Sal.
