Question I-Pod for our Lightnings?

I was wondering if their was a way for us to hook-up our I-Pods through the factory headunit like BMW has? Thanks

I currently use a Belkin FM modulator, it actually works well. I know there is a
company making a plug in for the GM factory CD changer input, but I'm not sure
about Ford. Alpine now makes an interface for their head units. Hope this helps.

If you have a stock head unit, do a search for the install procedure on these forums and/or order iPod Link for the hookup. Very simple, costs less than $100 and works like a charm.

Actually, they do. I've used the product in an '03 Supercrew and my '04 Lightning, both with in-dash 6cd players and they work great. Easy mod.

I don't get it. From the provided link:

"NOTE: NOT compatible with, nor are there any converters available for, any Ford-made vehicles equipped with the 6-Disc in-dash headunit and/or factory navigation system.

The FRDN-AUX is compatible with all vehicles listed below where the radio has CD Changer controls and the vehicle is NOT pre-wired from the factory. CD changer controling factory radios will have preset markings of "COMP" and "Shuffle.""

Our 6 disc in dash units do have changer controls, just not those particular buttons. Peripheral Electronics makes an adapter that you plug into the back of the radio where the changer would go, and it has audio inputs. Any Stinger dealer should be able to order one...it may not be the cheapest way to go though...

You could always go up to radioshack (I think they still sell them) they have cassettes with a wire that plugs into any headphone jack. I think theyre a dollar, but you do have a wire coming out to wherever the hell the iPod is.
