out of the blue

49,000 miles and no problems to speak of, last 20k on the performance tune from the predator with 0 problems, now out of the blue under wot i got wicked detonation it was so bad i actually felt the spike in power, needless to say i am keeping my foot out of it now but what do you guys think i should do?

I am ready for plugs.
could my intercooler be gettin fouled up and im losing it thru cooling and the computer is just not taking enough timing out?

think i will back out a couple degrees timing and see if that helps, truck runs perfect otherwise

stock except for a predator tune, always on amoco 93

Thanks guys

Mabey a bad tank of gas, when is the last time you changed your fuel filter? You should not have to run colder plugs with stock pulley's. I would be easy and drive that tank of gas out, put some new gas in, change the fuel filter if you have changed it lately, and then see if that solves it.

Mine ran great with just the perf tune, no pulley. Then one night, on the highway, I heard pinging at wot. I put the factory tune back on, and it ran great with no pinging. The temp outside was about 58 degrees. I was running 93 octane at the time.
