1. what is the correction factor on the chart? STD or SAE? Compare that to your lst run.

2. Do you want a dyno queen or a faster truck? Just becuase your PEAK numbers don't go up, doesn't mean you are slower. Its all about the area UNDER the curve.

It seems everyone is concerned with DYNO NUMBERS. Everyone wants a dyno queen. The only numbers important to me are from the track.

Only thing I use a dyno for is tuning.

I told my tuner where I wanted to be and he nailed it. I wanted about 435 hp and 525trq.
numbers below (this is conservative for my setup as well, however extremely safe for daily driving)

I'm with l-menace.

How about everybody RUN THEIR TRUCKS AT THE TRACK?
What a concept!!!
What is your trap speed?
TRAP SPEED=HORSEPOWER!!!

Oh, and stop trying to impress us with your ET/MPH including your NITROUS pass. We all know that nitrous makes more power. It depends on how much you want to spray.

I'd say anybody with a stock longblock and an Eaton going 110 MPH or more is hauling a$$! Personally, I don't care what it does on the bottle.

Rant done.

well, that's about the most retarded thing I've heard today.

I still don't get this concept that non nitrous users have that nitrous is somehow "cheating". if that were true, why then is adding turbo or a supercharger (in our case a LARGER supercharger) or a stroker motor not considered "cheating".

I say it's jealous complaining. "yes, you are faster, but only because you used nitrous." BS. I'm faster with or without nitrous, now what?

We all know that nitrous makes more power. It depends on how much you want to spray.
I could just as easily say, "we all know that KBs make power. It depends on how much boost you want to pulley for."

or "we all know that turbos make power, it depends on how big you want to go" or "we all know that stroker motors make power, it depends on how many cubes you want to build" etc.

to use a corny saying: run what you brung, and hope you brung enough.

if you didn't "bring" enough, then don't cry about those that did.

just my .02

my rant is now off too.

later,
chris

One comment to the WES cheer leaders. I did not say that wes was inept. I did not say anything negative about WES. The fact of the matter is....Scotts blower is a POS. It happens folks.....we are humans and mistakes are allowed.

The reasoning that, Scotts blower is good because everyone elses is, just sounds silly. Like I said.....it does not mean that Wes ported blowers as a whole are bad......I am sure Apten has had a blower Port or two not work out either.

That's it for me on this thread...I said my piece.

Whoa, I'm not trying to **** people off, I'm simply saying that even though your numbers didn't go up as you expected them to, you might still be much faster.

with a bigger pulley you are creating more power and torque at a lower rpm,

I never used the word "cheating." I'd just like to know what somebody's truck runs without the variable of nitrous in the equation. On these boards, too many times you find somebody attempting to gain notariety with some low ET, high MPH without them ever mentioning "peep" in their signature. I guess I'd settle for perhaps the sig saying "with a 75 shot of NOS" of something to that effect, so that we can have a real idea of what the truck is good for. Anybody can slap on a $500 nitrous kit and knock off better than a half second. I'd just like to know if it's factored into the equation. Understand???
But, looking at your sig, you're probably one of those miracle workers who are relying on a ton of spray for your dyno queen.

my "dyno queen" is regularly found at the dragstrip racing. it has run 12.30s on stock F1s, the stock motor, unported blower, stock tranny, NO NITROUS, etc. since according to you that is the only measure of performance.

I'm not looking for notariety, everybody here already knows me. I've owned two Gen2 Lightnings, and have been on the board for nearly 4 years, most people are well aware that I'm running nitrous in conjunction with an EATON. Instead of a larger KB blower. it's just a different option, not as you seem to believe, some sort of "secret" "unfair" or "misleading" method to achieve HP.

looking at YOUR sig, you are one of those guys who makes excuses whenever somebody goes faster than you. ie: Florida heat & humidity. soon to be... gunning for... eventually... you are using nitrous so it doesn't count... etc.

So far, 12.92 @ 106.39 on F1's in South Florida heat and humidity. Also race a low 9 sec supercharged 347 Fox Body Mustang, soon to be turbo, gunning for low 8's eventually.
again, just my .02

Wow, 12.30's on F's with a completely stock motor. You really are a Lightning God!!! I don't really care who knows you....and I'm real proud of you for having owned two Gen II trucks, and who knows you.....BLAH BLAH......

And I was right, that you are spraying to make your incredible numbers on the dyno. Again, I never said nitrous was "unfair" it's just nice to know when that's part of the equation.

If you know as much as you seem to profess to, you would know that heat and humidity DO make a big difference on how boosted applications run, and I happened to give more information in my sig (than I guess you do). You can take information as excuses, I just like to have it (information). Want to line up your race vehicle against mine? I didn't think so. Here come the excuses? Weight, aerodynamics, etc. Oh wait, I'm sure you have a 6 second race car in the garage, or a friend......

don't get your panties in a bunch sweetie.

I'd be happy to line up with your "race car" with my DAILY DRIVEN "dyno queen" STREET TRUCK.

but that wouldn't be fair would it...

after all, i'm using nitrous.

Daily Driven. Is that an excuse?

That is, your "race" vehicle?

Just out of curiousity, what does your truck run w/out the spray, when it's hot out?

So far, 11.80 @ 114 on Hoosiers in Virginia heat and humidity. also a low 19 second Focus wagon, soon to have the tires rotated, gunning for high 18's eventually.

the "daily driven street vehicle" thing isn't an excuse. just a fact. I drive my truck every day of the week. sometimes I pop a DVD into the dash and watch a movie while I drive. you called it a "dyno queen" but then want to race me with your "trailer queen" mustang. nitrous isn't fair, but that is? your logic is skewed.

I'd be happy to race you in whatever you've got. It's just a race. I'd race John Force if he'd line up beside me just for the fun of it. so don't think I'm afraid of your mustang. there's always somebody faster. nitrous, turbo, supercharged, or naturally aspirated. I don't have a problem with that. but for some unjustified reason you have a problem with people using nitrous. that's the only point I'm trying to make.

I happen to race my truck for fun, it's a hobby and pastime. you seem to be under the misconception that I'm having fun using the wrong method.

I disagree with your opinion.

nothing more, nothing less.

don't take it personally, I'm not.

I just like to have all of the information, and leaving out minor details like, uh...NITROUS just seems a little misleading, that's all. You seem to like to put words in my mouth, consistently stating that I have some kind of a problem with nitrous. I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF IT'S PART OF THE EQUATION. Nothing more than that.
To leave that little minor detail out seems a little deceptive. I don't automatically assume everybody with these trucks is all over the bottle, as it appears you are. Is that so difficult for you to comprehend? It appears so.

Nothing personal.

I guess we share the common thread of not liking the other's sig. If you feel better belittling mine, hey....knock yourself out.
