Truck keeps trying to die on me....HELP!!
Truck keeps trying to die on me....HELP!!
OK guys, I really need your help with this one. I started to notice a few weeks ago that when I was sitting at idle the trucks RPM's would dip down to around 500 almost like it wanted to stall out and then it would catch back up again to normal idle. Also, if you are sitting still (in park) and mash the accelerator to 1500rpms (or higher, it does not matter) when you take you foot off the gas, the truck nearly goes dead, it goes to around 500 rpms or lower and then it goes back to normal idle. If you are just sitting still at idle the truck will dip down in RPM's like its about to die about 1-2 times a minute. Do you guys have any idea what this might be??
I cleaned the Idle Control Motor with carb cleaner and cue tips and that did not seem to help! Could that motor be bad? I thought it could be the chip, but its not....I just got new SCT Tuner and it was doing it before and after new tune.
Sorry for the long post but I really hope some of you can help me out. Thanks alot!

What is the PCV Valve & could that be causing the problem??

I used RXP on one tank and used drier on another tank thinking I had water in the tank.
I am sorry you got the crud like me but I am happy someone else has the same problem.

Did you try pulling your chip? Mine was doing real close to the same thing. I have tried to make mine truck to work with a chip and it has not worked out.
Well, it worked fine for about a year or so and then all of a sudden it would just kick off, or half way kick, drop then regain real quick. If it starts happening more often I would say pull the chip and see what happens.

Hey... whatever happened to Silver 2002? Did you get it fixed and what did you do to fix it?
Mine still occurs every once in a while like when I don't drive it for several days....
Let me know... I am sure there are others out there that would like to know too.

Yep... found it... pulled it off... cleaned it... runs like a kitten. Idles much better...
Thanks...
However, as funky as it was... it just means there is more of that gunk inside... one of these days I'll pull the supercharger like everyone else and clean it up.
Not looking forward to that day... although the results should be worth it.
