First trip to the strip, Timeslips

Just got back from the drag strip. Had fun, but the truck didn't go as fast as I thought it would. Temps were in the high 50's, low 60's. Mods are in sig. I was running 26x10.5x16 ET Streets. 18psi the 1st run, 15.5psi the 2nd. The truck didn't launch very hard. Almost like it bogged down for a split second, then took off hard. I held the RPM's at 800 and floored it on the last yellow. Anyway, can you guys analyze my time slip?

R/T... .297
60... 2.00
330... 5.66
1/8... 8.70
MPH...80.90
1000..11.34
1/4... 13.59
MPH...100.24

Have you ever checked the A/F after getting the tune? I've run into this before where I'll send Predator tunes and the trucks will run stock times, and it turns out they are just pig rich at WOT. dunno why it does that, I've seen it in person on the dyno too, some trucks just run pig rich with the tune even thought it's not programmed that way.

I haven't put the truck on a dyno yet. I'm gonna do it soon. The local dyno tuner is clueless, but at least I could get a A/F reading.

I have found that the 99's and 2000's like to be launched at around 1000 rpm's

If you launch them at 800 they seem to bog like you found out.

That sounds right Don. With 3.55 gears, the truck probably needs a little more RPM. I'll be sure and try a 1000RPM launch next time.

fast1, i've got the same deal as you. 2000L, 4#'er, Intake, and custom predator tune (also Sal) and run about the same. 2.0 short and 13.6 @ 102. I think Sal's right about the richness of the tune at WOT. I think a good dyno pull would clear alot up for the both of us, that's why i hope to visit PSP when i get back from this damn desert (USAF)

like mine

i think we ended up having to do like 3 or 4 pulls before we even got any change with the AF. It just kept flatlining at 10.0:1

I wonder why it would do that? Im going to find out what's going on. I will call and get a dyno appointment Monday. I have a perfect video of my launch, but it's on a "old-school" non digital camera. Anyway to post it?

Sounds familiar to me Well, I wasn't running stock times, but I was off .4-.5 before we got that straightened out.

Im having pretty much the same problem. I have a 2000 also. I have chip, 6lb lower, CAI, FTVB, Traction bars. I have only at best turned 13.2@102. This is on 1.8 60's. I am getting a rich ses code, but on the dyno it showed high 11's air fuel. Im going to switch to 3.73's and see if it helps any. What I have come to believe is that it could possibly be the intercooler. When I pulled it for cleaning it was the old style no recall performed. I think the old one is less efficient and overspinning the eaton creates alot of heat. The further I get down the track the slower it seems to get. I think the computer is pulling timing the further I get down the track because of the IA2 temps severly increasing. I have seen some L's time slips net the same 1/8 mile as me but net high 12's where as I would net low 13's. I am going to perform the intercooler recall and swap gears, and get it back on the dyno and see were I stand from there. All of us seem to be having the same problems, I would really like to figure this but I do think I am on the right track. Let me know what you guys find out as I will do the same
