Talking First Dyno Pull

My local SVTOA chapter held a dyno day today at DynoTex Racing.

This was my firt time on the rollers and I managed to pull 400 HP and 510 ft.lbs rear wheel.

Nice smoth A/F line also.

I'll scan in the pull and post it in a bit.

Now I'm officially part of the 400/500 set - for now...

Herb

Edited dyno chart scan...

Thanks,

I'm in an 02 and I'm running a 5 # lower, a 12" open filter, a JDM flipchip (Superchips) and Magnaflow Catted midpipes with stock catback.

This was also the first time I've heard my truck WOT from the outside - WOW.

I got both runs on video too.

LOL - I'm a big time newbie on THAT one...

I'm actually doing a google right now to find out how to get these things off my camera

I think I need to buy a firewire card to capture them.

Awesome numbers Herb!
Thanks for everything today. Best thing about these vehicles is their owners.

What is that SAE? About 385 rwhp or so? Good numbers!

How do you tell the difference?

The dyno was a Dynojet, if that helps.

I also have the text data below that shows the atmospheric conditions of the run.

Is there a conversion formula that someone could post to convert from one to the other?

Thanks,
Herb

Cograts man,I just had mine on the Dyno this week as well and was pleased. It was maybe 70 degrees/low humidity @ 9am,very nice. I was @404hp & 485 Torque(SAE) It was like 414hp before SAE. My A/F was very similiar to yours. Welcome to the club and good luck with your L.

I think STD usually runs about 4% higher than SAE. You can have the results in both correction factors at the dyno if you ask.

Herb, congrats on the numbers . Yes you need a firewire, and a card in your cp to connect to your camera. You also need a good editing/capture program. I use Pinnacle Studio version9 for mine. Very easy to use and was only 79 bucks at best buy.

Video Ready

Thanks Grimace,

I went out last night to the next best place compared to a Speed Shop - Best Buy. I got a firewire card and cable and played with MS Movie Maker (came free with XP).

I managaged to cobble together my first production attempt - a 74 second clip showing both runs and the dyno data.

The clip version saved for upload is just over 3 Mb. Now I just gotta figure out how to host the thing. I signed up for a trial account at Neptune, but they require 'invitations' to be sent to allow usered to create an account to vuew the video - what a crock!

Anybody want to 1) host a 3Mb vudeo for me and 2) teach me how to do it myself so I don't have to beg hosting services anymore?

Thanks,
Herb

Thanks Scott,

It is nice to get together for these kind of things. I was glad to see that the L's were well represented. When I signed on for the Dyno Day, I thought I'd be the only L in a sea of Cobras.

Don't forget about the Cruise to Lake LBJ in November - that should be fun.

And Tracy, thanks for the kind words - sometimes I like working on these vehicle as much as driving them fast!

As for the video - I found out that RoadRunner has 5Mb available for my 'personal web page' - so Once, I fiure out how to set THAT up, I can at least host this one video.
