fuel pressure problem
finely got my truck on a drive and check system a friend with a snapon brand ODBII and driveablity tester. the one you can hook up and go for a drive and test will driving. he done it for me so i could see why i am detonating so bad. only problem that came up and came up as it detonated under load between 45 and 70 mph was fuel problem so here is it as he stated to me..
it came up fuel problem/starving engine under load
on key turn i have 10lbs of fuel pressure and on start up barely 30lbs and i guess about the same on driving. the computer system said i should have between 35 and 40lbs on start up at idle or under load.
the guy thinks that since he heard that the L's have two fuel pumps that one of them must be out or going out and that i'm running on one. he said there is a pusher ad a puller pump and the pusher is 9 times out 10 the one out. and its the one normally in the tank.
so i thought i would go to the experts the guys on here who drive them and work on them.
does this sound right or could there be an something else that is causing the low fuel pressure and starvation or can the fuel pressure be adjusted.
i have 60,000 miles on my 00L and have new spark plugs, tr5's, and change my filter every 3000 miles and run 93 octane gas. 4lb pulley and a superchip with no spark advancement.
thanks for the help guys i really need to get this resolved and go back to enjoying my truck.
also if the fuel pump and if there is two should i replace both and were can i get them the cheapest. or if any of the guys that was parting out the wrecked ones
