Question Something in the Tranny has Failed

I just got the L to see 16#'s w/ the Magnum and it seemed like I finally worked out the issues w/ the L's problems.

So I'm out today testing the nitto's to practice launching for the Ford vs GM shootout Oct 2nd.

The truck runs very stout the first run but has a little slippage w/ the nitto's in first, so i try once more and the truck bounces the rev limiter in first and dosent want to shift to second.

The truck stayed at 5500 rpm in first gear for like 3 seconds before making the shift to 2nd (converter slippage?, VB falure?2nd gear clutch is toast?)

I'm not sure yet cause I havent takin the tranny apart yet

After 3K in mods and endless work this last month it looks like the L wont be attending the Ford vs GM shootout after all.

Words cannot discribe the fustration I feel at this moment....

Anyone have some ideas for a replacment tranny/rebuild kit, stock, Level 10, monster box ect, ect.

Some times if you get no traction the truck will do that. This has been my past exp. Most of the time it shouldn't if you let your tuner know whats happening they should be able to help. I would contact them first before getting a new tranny.
I personaly run a Monster Box tranny with a 2600 stal converter.
Since I have been runing the Monster Box it hasn't happen any more.

Sauvy,
Its not the traction issues that are making the truck not want to shift on the 1,2.

Although I do know what you are talking about cause i've done it a few times.

Something is very wrong w/ the tranny and I belive it's the 2nd gear clutch that has falied, but i'll have to wait till Monday to confirm my guess.

BTW what kind of warranty does the Monster bow come with and what brand of stall are you running?

Thanks Dennis

Both are Factory tech my converter is the Total domination Billit .
I'm not sure about the warranty but I will say that Greg stands behind his work and has "ALWAY'S DONE ME GREAT"

I also have heard that JLP has a good set up.

A Monster Box comes with a Total Domination Converter, includes shipping and has a two year warranty that covers labor nationwide. WHen you're done with the install, call the 800 number and we'll come pick up the core, free of charge. They retail for $3250 delivered.

if your truck runs strong.....(no trans slipping) couldnt it be a computer problem ?, maybe a chip adjustment ??

I vote for a mechanical diode failure although, if I'm not mistaken, that diode was only in certain 2001 models. If its not that I vote for a sprag failure.

Really though, it's a question for Greg.
