Any 1st Gen Lightnings out there?

I have been browsing this site for some time and I can't remember the last time I saw a post from someone who owned a 93-95 Lightning. Are there any of you out there?

SlowSVT95 - maybe you can help me with a couple questions. I'm looking into picking up a 94 this week but I know next to nothing about the Gen 1 Lightnings. What was the standard gear setup(and what were the options) and what kind of tranny do they use? I ASSume a version of the Mustang AODE, but that is a guess. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Here is what my door sticker says in case it helps:

Ext paint - YZ, 72
WB - 117
Type GVW - F157
Body - L64
Trans - E
Axle - H5
Tape - 7
Springs - P4J

I currently have a licensed 93 and a couple of 93 project trucks in addition to my 99. I'm still learning about the Gen I myself. Transmission is an E4OD with a 351W motor. The 93 had the weakest tranny with upgrades in 94 and 95. A few options including center junp seat (worth it's weight in gold), tube bumper, tow package, soft top for the bed, etc... The stock rearend and transmission are the weak links in the drivetrain. The motor is bulletproof.

Just got back from Lightningfest and if you want to go really fast, the Gen I is the thing.

Holy cow that is fast. Just curious, where is Lightningfest held? Same place every year?

As for the drag racing thing, that's what I have my stroked 88 Mustang for. The last thing I need is a third vehicle that is not streetable.
