Well, I think this weekend I finally decided to sell the Lightning and civic and get a new car.
After getting up at 6 am Saturday , changing my plugs (got it down to under 45minutes!!), swapping out coil pacs and staring at the motor with utter confusion until 1 pm and still having the misfire I have decided to sell the L. I just think that Ford and myself screwed my truck up and it will never be the same so I want to cut my loses.

So at 1:30 I left my house and headed to an Infinity dealership. I test drove the FX 45. It was fully loaded and very quick. Not as fast as the truck but respectable. I had them appraise my civic and was going to bring the truck back Sunday to get it appraised. I was very turned off by the salesperson, She had no clue about anything on the truck and was hammering me for a down payment before she asked my name.
So Sunday I take the truck to get appraised. Next store to the infinity dealer is an Audi dealer. I decide to stop there first and test drive the 2005 S4. The salesman was on his game and new everything about the car. I took it for a test drive and within 500 feet of the dealership I was sold on the car. It feels faster than the Lightning and just sticks to the road. The salesman let me take it out for a good 20- 25 minutes so i got a good feel for the car. The only thing that sucks is they appraised my truck at 17K which is less than I owe. They said today they are going to make a few calls and see if I can get more. More than likely I will try to sell both of my cars privately.

I have not signed anything yet, but it looks like within a few weeks I will be in a 2005 Nogaro Blue S4.

If I go private sale I plan on having Sal fix whatever is wrong with the truck first. I would feel guilty handing the problem off to someone else.

I am not gone yet but I want to thank everyone for all the help they have given me over the last 2 years.

 

Why not have Sal fix it then keep it? You know you'll miss it.

OMG!!! Somehow, I knew it would come to this . I hate to see you go Tom. Your a great Lightning guy (setting up the DynoDay, setting up the raceday, refinancing my house . . . )

 

Thanks Jim, I am not gone forever. I figure I have not drove it really since April and will probably not have it running properly for another 2 or 3 weeks because of work. Then it will be snowing and I will not drive it until april. So that is basically one whole year of paying 900 per month for payments and insurance and I have not drove it. I am going to upgrade to the s4 and maybe I will get a used one in the spring. If not I plan on getting the new L when they come out.

 

So, when can we expect to see your classified? I'm interested in the transmision cooler.

i know, i know...... this has been the worst!!!!! Worse come to worse.....it's going to Jim on november 4th.

 

Well it is not really an upgrade for price reasons because I am selling 2 cars to get it. I am selling my pimped out ricer civic which is probably harder to part with than the L because I have so much more time and money invested into it. So I am trading in 50K in cars to get a 50k car. If you count mod money I am trading in excess of 70K worth of cars for this. I am so excited about this.
340 hp 302 trq, all wheel drive, 6 speed .

 

S4, yuck...go get a C6. Or even an M3(which i dont like), but not an s4. Plus, ive heard too many horror stories about the new s4's engine.
