What's the DIAMETER of 6# & 8# pulleys?
Can someone tell me what the diamter of a 6# and 8# pulley are? I was told the pulley i have is an 8#er but its only making the boost of a 6#er. The diameter of it (JLP Pulley) is 9 & 3/4". I thought the 8# pulley was 10"....or is that just an estimation and it is really 9 & 3/4"????
So, if ya'll can and will, please measure your 6# and 8# pulleys.
thanks in advance!

it depends on who makes the pulley as to the diameter of a "6lb" or "8lb" pulley.
some vendors/manufacturers use different sizes for the same "lb" rated pulley.
the lb rating is not accurate anyway.
but if it helps I THINK the Metco one piece (not the interchangeable outer ring style) goes like this:
6lb = 9.5inches
8lb = 10inches
these are the one piece style that JDM sells, i'm not sure about the other vendors.
it also depends on where you and/or the vendor or manufacturer are taking the measurements.
also, the boost # will vary your mods, so you could have an 8lb, but with long tube headers and ported heads (just as an example, you could show less boost) or vice versa, a 6lb with a ported blower showing more boost.
it will also vary with weather conditions (ie: temp and barometric pressure)
I know this doesn't help much, but good luck.

the pulley is a JLP one. The only mods i have done is a 12" cone filter, Magnaflow catback, chip, and pulley. The measurement i was taking was from outtermost ridges of the pulley...so actually, where the belt sits, will not not be a full 9& 3/4".
