Awww, man, another lucky L owner showing off that sweet mod.

You're lucky; that console looks GREAT! I am very jealous, I've been searching high and low for a while now.

EDIT: Holy crap! I'm getting divorced, I can save weight by not putting in a passenger seat! My dog would LOVE that area! WOOHOOO!

iv often wondered about this....

do you just buy another drivers seat for the other side? or do you somehow cut and sew the passenger seat to fit???

You have to get the "40" Part cut of and the 60 Part re-upholstered. If you got another drivers seat you count get to the controls to adjust it. And it would probably cost more.

The console i got thru a friend of mine who gets ford parts for about $350. It's brand new and it's made up of different parts from 99-up consoles.

The track that goes down the hump is eliminated completely and you use a second track that goes in the same positions on the passenger side as the drivers side track does.

I'm not sure how much the seat will be to cut down since i havent done it yet. I'm going by a couple shops that were recommended to me today, and see what they say about doing it.

You get your passnger bench seat foam and fabric cut to fit on a seat pan like this...

I paid $100 (I think...it was a while ago) at a Auto/Marine upholstery shop...it comes out like this...

And for you guys looking for a console, I found one in a junk yard that was pretty beat up...looked like this..

after alittle soap and paint it came out like this...

Mistergadget....did your piece with the cupholders in it come painted the dark gray? If not, and you painted it, what paint did you use? I'd like to get mine that color, but couldn't find paint that looked descent...
