truck had a 40series dual muffler Flowmaster cat back on when I bought the truck nearly a year ago... Iv done all kinds of mods since then, but was sorta waiting on exhaust since it already had one...

next in line is heat exchanger and exhaust... id like to eventually go with full system with LTs, cats, etc

i know the Flowmaster is not liked very well, so I was thinking of going with the Silver bullet, Bassani, Magnaflow, etc...

my question is.....

i know the Flowmaster is not helping me at all performance wise, nor do I care much for the sound... (not loud enough)... but would the Flowmaster actually be "HURTING" me performance wise??? someone told me it was prolly actually taking HP/TRQ away with back pressure, etc...

any truth to this??? does anyone have any dyno charts of identical trucks... one with flowmaster, one with another type of catback??

 

Popular opinion has always been that this is true. ? But I have yet to see one timeslip or dyno chart that proves it. If someone has something please post it!

I personally like the flowmaster sound and have some long term plans on some R1 versions.

BTW: My spintech catback sounds very much like a flowmaster.

i like the actual sound of my flowmaster exhaust... i just want the same sound... just louder...

i often pop it into 2nd gear manualy just cuz I like the sound alot better....otherwise, its too quiet

 

does anyone have a sound clip of an L with a flowmaster? I know on regular F-series, they sound bad ***.
