Need Help with wideband install please!

Alright i am trying to install a lm-1 air fuel meter. The thing works flawlessly for reading every output except for rpm. I am getting my tach signal from the #8 coil pack wire- white with red stripe. The lm-1 records constant spikes all across the rpm range and the rpms are way off. up in the 2000's for idle aND IT MAXES WELL ABOVE 10000 RPM. I have the setup all right. I have been talking to innovate motorsports and they say that no lightning owner has had this trouble. They also say i need to get tach signal from "negative lead on the coil." Other than that they say i have everything hooked up and programmed right. the only outputs i am monitoring are tps, a/f, rpm, and of coarse my rpm converter is grounded. Can anyone help me out?? I really need to know if i am retrieving the tach signal from the right place. Thanks guys.
