Is 6lb too much with ported blower?
Is 6lb too much with ported blower?
I was wondering is a 6lb lower pulley too much with a Apten ported blower? I had a 4lb lower on my truck and I just installed long tube headers about a month ago....I then upgraded to the 6lb lower due to the boost loss with LT's. Well now that Apten is offering their blower porting special this month I want to get a port job and I was wondering is a 6lb pulley safe with an Apten port? Thanks for the help guys, All replys are welcome!
No, it is not too much. Doesn't matter which pulley, if you run detonation, it will get hurt. I've been running 6lb lower for many months now.

I know you have absolutely nothing to offer, except your opinion that a 4 lb pulley is faster than a 6lb pulley truck

So lets hear all the wisdom you have about these trucks
To the question..........
Been running a 6 lower with the Apten for a while now. After the truck was tuned for the 6lber and the Apten, its running fine! Runs 12.0/12.1 in the heat and 11.9 in the cool air. So all in all...........it's what has been discussed many times again and again......It's all in the TUNE
But Iam sure WideOpen03SVT is so much faster
I run a 6lb'er with ported Apten. And I have a very heavy foot. I've had the 6lber on since 600 miles on the truck and the ported apten since about 6K miles, I'm now at 30,000 miles (in just over a year mind you).
The key is the tune. I did 421hp and 500tq on a hot motor, but I only have 14 degrees of timing. Thats the key. If you run a lot of timing or too lean its bye-bye rods.
