You should have asked here about Texas area Lightnings and contacts. There are numerous Lightnings up the road 2.5 hours in DFW that sell for around $29,000. That being said, it's only your business what you buy. Good luck with your new ride.

I've seen two red SS's in the past couple of days . . . one really dirty with writing on the windows, and one much newer looking. The paint was real shiny on it. I passed that one today (thursday) on my way to blinn on Texas, was this you?
That was me following you on the way to blinn yesterday. You have a badass looking L. Sounds good too. Thanks guys for the compliments. I also know that I might have more fun just posting on the chevy boards, but I LOVE lightnings still, and you guys seem to be more strictly performance oriented, and less about "look at my new bodykit" kind of stuff. Not to mention, I need to know what the competition is doing right

Back to the point. I practically stole this truck from the dealership. Sticker on it was $40,750, and I walked out the door with the price at $26,500. They also gave me $10k trade in on top of that for my 2002 wrx with $1700 worth of hail damage, and I put an additional $1500 down. My payments are around $270/mo for 5 years.

If I had found a L for $28-29k new I probably would have bought it, but this truck is probably going to work out for me a little better. I also just got my real estate licence, and will hopefully be selling houses soon, and sometimes you have to carry people to go show them.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Hope to see some of your around.

By the way, Lightning guy, styleandspeed is the name of my website, I didn't get the name because my ss has style and speed.

Aaron,

Congratulations on your new ride! I know you wanted a Lightning from the get go, but you still have the opportunity in the future to be a Lightning owner, that is the way I see it. You seem enthusiastic and as well as an admirer of the bolt and I really can appreciate that bro.

Your truck looks awesome and I hope you enjoy it. Remember you can always become a Lightning owner in the future. In the mean time enjoy that beaut you have on your hands!

10k trade-in for your wrx? Hale damage is easily fixed with paintless repair. You didn't get the truck for$ 26,500 as you lost quite a bit on your WRX compared to selling it outright. It all equals out in the end. If you are happy with a price then at least you can have peace of mind, but don't kid yourself about a good deal.

I paid $11 for that wrx, drove it for a year and 12k miles, and traded it in for $10k. I thought that I was doing pretty well. I got a really good deal on it in the first place though.

Oh, and by the way, Someday I will have a lightning, and I will use my SS to tow it to the track

That was a good deal for you initially and yes you did not lose much on a trade-in then.

Throw a 100shot of juice on the SS and have a blast. You'll take down quite a few vehicles from the light with a blast of n20 off the line and AWD.

Drive the SS for a while, if you decide you want a Lightning later...go buy one. There will be over a dozen for sale within 50 miles of your house.

Thanks man, your truck looked real good too. My room mate wants one real bad. He's got an 03 single cab silverado.

I've seen the red one I believe. My room mate told me he almost never saw L's last year, and since I've been here, we've seen 3 or 4 others. What are you in?

No, my speedo only goes up to 120 Guess that means that is my top speed right

The reason that I posted my chevy up on the ford site, is just because I wanted to say hi, because I think that many of you L guys are pretty cool.

I also work up at the Oreilly's in CS across from Wal-mart if yall need any parts or anything. See ya around.

You're missing out BIGTIME on owning one of the best specialty truck ever made. You're missing out on power, style and handling as far as any truck ever produced. Hey, but it's not the end of the world, you could always change your mind and trade in the Chevy.

If the sticker on your truck was over $40k, and you only paid $26.5, shouldn't there be some wiggle room in there to get a good trade on an L?
