CharlieL breaks another record!

Charlie breaks the 60' barrier tonight at Cecil with a 1.286 60' time. He runs his best time so far:
6.541@102 in the 1/8
10.366@129.28 in the 1/4

Congrats Charlie...the 9's are right around the corner!

Nice but was this a 60ft achieved on 1 pass only or multiple passes ? Serious question and not trying to start a flame fest but the those are strong 60ft and lights do mal****ion. I cut a 1.20 on F1s once

BTW- Has Charlie stepped up to the juice ?

Big Fan, No disrespect taken..I know what you mean ive seen it many of times too myself, I made the 1st pass to try everything out, I didn't spray it out of the hole like charlie did. i got a 1.5 60 ft! ran a 10.6 @ 129.9. i wasn't trying to set any records with it just testing it.I went back made a few changes to the tune. then charlie took it. He Sprayed it right out of the hole and it hooked! I already know of another Lightning that got a 1.2? 60 ft! as well. I'm sure you'll see many more here shortly as the Lightning Fest gets Closer....JL

I would also like to know if there was a second pass with a 1.20 60ft. I mean no disrespect to Charlie whatsoever. He is a great guy, a class act, and he has must upmost respect. The reason I ask is because the math just doesn't add up. I have no problems believing the 10.36ET or the 129mph, Charlies truck is more than capable of that. Both of those numbers make sense with each other, but are more suited to a truck running a 1.45-1.50 60ft. The same truck getting a legit 1.2 60ft would be closer to running a 10.00 ET. Also a 1.2 60ft is a little hard to believe in a vehicle like ours, no matter what the power level. Pro 5.0 cars running 6.90s only turn about a 1.0 60ft, and Outlaw cars running mid 7s run in the 1.1-1.2 range. It's hard to believe a vehicle that weighs 1000lbs more, with quite a bit less hp, and leaf spring suspension, can turn the same 60ft.

I'm not going to get in a debate over his 60 ft. maybe its right maybe's its not..Time will tell. Like i said i know of another lightning that got a 1.2 60 ft! or thats what i'm told anyhow..I know for a fact my truck is capable of a 1.2 60 ft. if i get it to hook on the spray out of the hole..We'll be back testing again here in a few days. we'll see what 60 ft. we get,we'll keep ya posted on it.but i wouldn't be surprised to see some more 1.2 60 fts!.i could be wrong......JL

Off the line, Charlie was definitely on his way to a 9 second pass. The truck was cutting power between shifts....still perfecting the tune.
