Question Pulley and Airride

Hello,
my name is Christian from Germany and I own a 2004 Lightning since July 04. So I am a Newbie here, but I hope you guys will help me.
It is very difficult for me to read and write all this technical stuff in English, but I hope you'll understand me and if you answer, please use simple words.

My truck has an Flowmaster American Thunder Catback exhaust, an K&N FIPK and also I've got an Diablo Sport Predator programmer.
Now I want to install a pulley, but I don't know which size and howmany additional pressure is okay for an everyday used car.
Maybe you can tell me names of companies, who sell this pulleys, here in Germany I can't buy them.

Also I want to install an Airride suspension, is here anybody who can tell me which components will fit???

Best regards,
Christian

Chris,

On my daily driver i had a 6# setup, never a problem. (on my lightning)

That was in addition to MANY other engine mods.

I believe your success depends on a GOOD tune when running anything over a 4#'er on a daily.

Congradulations and Welcome!

Your english and spelling is better than most of ours.....

The supporting vendors on the left side of this page have everything you will need.

The 4 pound unit is probably the most common unit sold and you can get one with interchanging rings for different levels of boost.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Hi,

I am from Germany as well, though, I've been living in the US since 1998. Let me know if you have any questions that you might not be able to translate, and I will help you out.

E-mail me at: ben_g99@yahoo.com

Later ....

Octan gas

Hello,

thank you for your quick replies.

@halflife
We've got a new fuel called 'Ultimate 100', so it has 100 octan. It is a little bit more expensive, but I think it is good for the engine.

@ben_g99
I'll write you an Email in German language!!!

@EZGZ
Is 4 pound like additional 4psi boost???

Someone here in Germany told me that he wouldn't increase the pressure with a pulley, because the engine can explode, when you use to much pressure, is it true??

Christian

Christian, yes you can blow up your engine with TOO much extra boost. 4#'s is safe with the programmer you bought from predator.

Christian,

I am not familiar with Airride. Predator Tuner will alow for I believe 14 pounds of boost. So you might want a 4 pound pulley kit if you have a cold air intake. Here is a list of vendors to check out:

www.johnnylightningperf.com
www.jdmengineeringinc.com

yeah play it safe and do not go any bigger than a 4lb and you still have risk. 100 octane is great and much safer for the engine.
i blew mine with a 4lb and a ported blower, but mine was not the typical blow engine that these guys are talking about. Usually if you have too much horsepower you can throw a rod. I just something big mess up in mine--not really sure what cause it.

But because it will be hard for you to get parts I think you will be very happy with a 4lb and predator tune.

From: Colorado,

hey Chris no offense intendid but I would love to see you and ben99 exchange a few comments in German about our Lightnings just to see what it looks like.

I think you could understand lots of it in most languages.

100 octane sounds great! I hope there is a future for fuel to run our trucks. I have a lot of payments left and I would hate to not be able to drive it.

Don't forget the shift kit for the transmission. You can do it yourself and it is a big help to the performance feel of the truck.

You should also get a custom tune from one of the supporting vendors.

Slight thread hijack...

"You should also get a custom tune from one of the supporting vendors."

Once I have my Predator, can I contact a supporting vendor and say "I have pulley X, filter mod Y, misc. mod Z, please provide a custom tune" and they can sell me one?

Or am I dramatically oversimplifying?
