barking sound from air intake?

barking sound from air intake?
Has anyone ever seen or heard of sporadic barking (dog barking)coming from the plenum area and eminating out of the air filter? I just witnessed this saturday from a friends truck. The barking is sporadic when the engine is first started than it just goes away. I believe that this is from a sticky EGR, so I am thinking of just replacing it or doing away with it.
