Bryce,
You need a little more agressive tune thats all (more timing)
16 degrees would be a smart and safe starting point.

Your MPH is low, you need to add 3 to 6 MPH more to get that 12 sec run in, the timing will do that. My AF is 10.nothing and even below 10 for some of the Dyno, but I like it like that for Nitrous, but as said you may want to get that into the low 11's, that will also wake it up BIG TIME

yea my timing is 16* on street side and 20 on side 2. i really can't tell much differance in the 2. my thinking has been that the leaner you are the higher your egt temp is. i don't have headers -yet-, i just drilled into the stock manifolds about 2 1/2 inches from #5. no one has chimed in about me accedentally filping my chip to the stock setting while the truck was still running. rob how can you make so much power with a rich a/f? thanks again everyone

Concrete Guy -

Thanks! (The flames are chopped, though. )

Bryce -

You should have no problems switching it while driving. Not recommended, but wont cause any problems...

I still say race it with traction on a better day and you will see results. Headwind is a big deal with these bricks...

went to the track also last night

My times last night were also a little slow for my mods:
4lb lower/apten port/apten dyno tune/traction bars running on F1's at 24psi

My first run was right when I got there:
Reaction - 0.5684
60FT - 2.194
330FT - 5.9152
1/8ET - 8.9698
1/8MPH - 80.4
1000ET - 11.6549
1000MPH - 91.05
1/4ET - 13.9184
1/4MPH - 99.73

Then after jumpering the intercooler pump to run while the truck was off and putting ice packs on top of the intercooler reservoir and the upper plenum and letting it sit for a while I ran:
Reaction - 0.5205
60FT - 2.1164
330FT - 5.7692
1/8ET - 8.7822
1/8MPH - 81.25
1000ET - 11.4354
1000MPH - 92.21
1/4ET - 13.6706
1/4MPH - 101.03

Looks like the 80deg weather and my 60ft are hurting me too.
I just don't see you guys are cutting 1.9ish 60fters on F1s!

I also believe my tune is on the safe side, my base timing is 14deg with 11.7ish A/F dynoed at 400/464....

I made my first pass with my truck yesterday. Pulled a 1.9 60ft on F1's. Some say its about as good as you'll get with f1's but i think i can get better.

is it the track prep that hurts the f1's or is it a better traction bar system that helps more?

Aren't you basically exchanging lean(ness) for more timing. I would think that your extra rich mixture is allowing the inordinate high timing you are able to run. Wouldn't you agree with most of the tuners that 11.7-11.9 is still safe while making good power?
