The new body style just doesn't appeal to me. It looks like the bed is too tall, and overall too angular. For those who like the style it seems to be a nice piece.

I agree, and was just saying it minutes ago

I think Ford maybe went overboard with their cold, hard, machine-like design on the Lightning concept (keep the angular designs over at Cadillac please!). I still prefer the softly-rounded shoulders and muscular curves of our bodystyle,

I agree Ben, as much as I loved the unvailing myself, I just did A LOT of interstate driving this week and I got to tell you, I saw sooooooooo many new F-150 Trucks and I just CAN NOT get it to grow on me "as the next Gen Lightning"

My dad just bought a 04. I don't care for the looks but it feels much stiffer than my truck and it's as quiet at a Caddy.

I had to go help him load a walk behind lawn aerator last week and I am still trying to get my guts back into my **** cavity. It's stupid to have a tailgate that's 4.5 feet off the ground.

The Roush truck is nice but for that kind of $$$, I'd wait and get the real deal Gen 3.

the truck was designed to have the largest payload capacity in it's class, i think the new L will be awesome, as great as the regular f150's ride, i have to believe the L will be an incredible ride

i do like the new body style, we'll have to wait and see the new L

I think the designers left in too much "edge" and the engineers left in too much "wait" (at the stoplight).

Check out the new Truckin magazine. They have an article on a new F150 that was converted by Whipple Industries. It's what the new L should look like and one sweet looking ride.

"but our best 0-to-60 runs, timed by hand and with an Escort Passport G-Timer, yielded results in the low-to-mid-seven-second range. "

And the seats receive a two-thumbs down...:santa:

so how come nobody is saying, I cant wait to blow the doors off it with my "stock" lightning. Given the fact that the new f150 weighs as much as the ram, that thing is prolly god awfully slow in the 1/4.

Yuck. No thanks, I'll keep my 04 for quite a while.

I also prefer the rounded look of our body style -- especially the bed section, but the concept L (which I saw in person) was just about the coolest vehicle that I have ever seen.

The Roush, however, is probably much closer to what the Gen 3 which actually turn out to look like. Extended cab and all. No Brembos. No 6 speed. No IRS. No 22" wheels. No center console.

I too am shocked by the poor performance. That thing must weigh a lot more, because it performs way worse with more HP/TQ.

On some level, I must confess that I want the Gen 3 to fail. I simply have too much time and effort devoted to my truck to get rid of it, and I don't want to wish that I had a Gen 3 every time that I get in.

"There’s a lot of room under the hood, too, so Roush had no problem fitting a supercharger, which delivers six inches of boost, and a cold intake kit to the Triton. The back pressure-reducing exhaust features dual two-inch outlets instead of a single three-inch breather."

what's an inch a boost? doesn't sound like much too me

The Roush is such a waste of money, it doesnt look very good and its 50k for the Stage 3? Give me a break..... I love Roush stangs....but they have yet to do a truck right, the older Roush trucks were lame/pricey too

Could it be inches of mercury or water? That's another common way to measure pressure drop or rise (in lieu of psi).

My first post here............WOOHOO!!!!!
