For that amount of money, I'd rather pick up an SRT-10 Ram than that Roush...

Even the Stage 3 doesn't finish the job. I'd be a lot more interested if it had better rubber, Brembos, a more refined interior (not that chinzy plastic/faux-aluminum junk), and a 6-speed. Not to mention Recaros, and a center console.

My first post here............WOOHOO!!!!!
it would be inches of mercury you are refering to, but then that would be 2.95 psi. pretty low boost if you ask me. it is obviously a typo.

oh yeah, welcome.

I don’t know, it just does not stand out as unique or a bad *** so to speak. The current Gen II Lightning just has its own character and bad *** stance to it.

Don’t mean to offend anyone but the new 04 F150 is just a truck, an ordinary looking truck that has no character to it at all. It is straight looking, no decent curves, almost has a ”designed and built in China for America, cheap, cheap, cheap”. I mean what happen? Did they only give the exterior designers 20 minutes in the clay room to come up with the exterior design?

I think it is going to really take some kind of major aftermarket parts to make the current new 04 body style have, well any style at all.

The truck in the picture is not to bad looking and the scoop does look good and adds a little, but it really doesn’t look like anything unique, just a truck with some parts bought at Auto Zone…

My point too-
I think its safe to say that this thread will follow all of the other body change threads. People like what they currently have better than the new style. I cant blame them. I think the new F150 is leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessor in the styling department. I just wish people would stop bashing simply because they dont have it, or out of some kind of justification for what they are currently making payments on. There are some that just prefer the old body style, and Im fine with that too.

I think the roush version looks nice inside and out.

But you wanna talk about downright ugly! Look at any of the new GM pickups! I can't believe they are so ugly. The little truck looks like the amber / headlight assembly was installed upsidedown to me.

BTW: I too think it's completely rediculous how high the tail gate is on the new ford.

Not sure if that post was in regards to mine or just made in general. However I would disagree about the:

” I just wish people would stop bashing simply because they dont have it, or out of some kind of justification for what they are currently making payments on.”

I was originally going to wait and get a Lightning after my prior truck was paid off which would have been in 2006. When I saw the new Ford body style I decided to get the current Gen II before they were all gone.

This was done completely because I just did not like the new body style. So my comments were not made to justify what I am currently making payments on nor what I didn’t have since I didn’t want one to begin with. You could argue if I am bashing or not that is fair game but I honestly think the new F150 just looks like every other truck on the road…

However in all fairness I will say up front that I for one really liked the new style Ford when it came out in 1997…

It's called criticism. Every vehicle will see some of that. Hoping that Ford reads these forums every once in a while, constructive criticism such as Ben's will help Ford, not hurt it.

If no one expressed their opinions, Ford might just sh*t out an Aztek like GM did...

I agree, we are all aloud to have opinions, and WOW it surly seems most don't like the new Body Style

I know we sometimes first see something and we're not impressed and then it grows on you. HOWEVER I don't buy vehicles based on that. No offence to the Cobra Bro's but I just happen to like the older style over the current style, so in 99 when I wanted one I hunted around and bought a low mile 96 from the dealership with a Wrrnty instead, and I'm glad I did.
When I saw the Gen II Lightning for the first time, I knew right there and then I WANTED IT. Same thing with all my other former vehicles, it's the first impression that gets me EVERYTIME.

As in my women, I like my trucks to have curves. Our Gen II's have curves for days. I think the only way the Gen III Lightning would appeal to me is some kind of Stillen body kit. Even if the power levels of the Gen III's turn out to be 525-550 HP and running mid 12's stock, I wont buy one if its built like a Fireplug.
