i got them from a buddy in my local club. he gave them to me at cost. after doing mine (they were the first set) he doesn't want to do any more because they were a major pita put on.

the darkness is similar to a 35% window tint, but they are rather reflective, so they look darker when the lights are off. it is the same material used for the clear bras, just thicker and tinted.

he may sell them, but he doesn't want to sell them to somebody, not knowing if they have the patience/skill to apply them correctly. it took over an hour to do the set, and the first one took twice as long as the second. (and he is in the decal business) if you are in houston, he might put them on for you.

no, it is a 100 club sticker. that is a charity that gives monetary support to the families of poliemen and firefighters who lose their lives in the line of duty. (it helps turn speeding tickets into warnings also)

Looks good on a black truck, but are they legal? It seems I have read that unless the red reflector is clearly visible that the tailights could be deemed illegal.

i guess i'll find out if i get pulled over. at night the tailights shine right through them, in the daytime, you can see the red ok, but still lights up rather birght. the tint is similar to a 35% window tint, but the material is pretty reflective, so it seems darker when taillights/blinkers/brake lights are off.

Brain, just an FYI, man. A Friend of mine got rear ended in daylight in Tampa about 4 years ago with a set of those tailights. Its difficult to see the lights even on a relatively sunny day. If you do a sudden stop, that extra 1 - 1.5 seconds that the driver behind you would need to see your lights may not be there. I'm not playing Old Maid on ya, but my friend Jay lost the suit on his '00 GT because he had blacked out tailight covers, even though he was rear ended. The first thing the lady said that rear ended him was "I didnt see your brake lights and by then it was too late". The cop looked at the shards of the tailight covers, scooped them up, and they made an appearance in court. Happened at about 3 pm on an average sunny day on Hwy 60 / Adamo Drive year 2000. Cost him thousands. They are actually safer at night because the lights (usually) illuminates thru them easily. But not during the day, man.

Anyway, your truck is sharp as hell.

I've never been a fan of smoked headlights or tail lights.
