Metco Idler Pully

I received my Metco pully set up today from Tim@Chickenears. I had it installed in about 15 minutes. Great quality and easy to install.

I like it alot better than the previous versian. Thanks Tim for the great service/response........

I won't hesitate to do business with you again. It was a pleasure as usual.

The older version bolts to the bottom of the supercharger.. The newer setup looks better and cleaner..

Same reason for me. The old version used the corners of the supercharger for mounting. I really didn't feel comfortable with that. It also made it a bit tough routing the hard plastic hose back to the intake. The old one would not work for the KB....which I have now.

The new one uses the factory idler pully bracket.....Nice and clean.

I wonder if the warrantee ****'s would void that setup? It doesn't bolt the the s/c itself, and doesn't put more of a load on the forward bearing, does it? It just makes the belt wrap farther around the pulley. Correct?

In and of itself, it would not seem to be a problem.

But it's useless unless you have aftermarket pullies on -- and those might void the powertrain warranty.

The reason I ask is I have a gatorback, and it still slips through a shift. I can hear the belt squeal at the peak of the shift. This is something I thought would probably solve that problem.

You sure it's not the accessory belt? That is typically the cause of the squeak... If there's more than 1/4" of play on your S/C belt, get a 1/2" shorter one.

I concur! I have the idler kit and still get the slight squeak if i let off the throttle real quick right after it shifts.

I wondered about that myself. Since it doesn't actually bolt o the blower...it shouldn't affect the warranty. But Kenne Bell seems to look for reasons to blame anything but the blower, if it fails.

I probably wouldn't mention the idler set up if I did seek warranty work from them.

I don't have alot of play in my sc belt, and they are the stock pulleys. I hear it when I am standing on the loud pedal and don't let up for a shift. Could it be a faulty idler pulley for the accessories?
