If you close off the JLP box, what would be the difference if you took the stock box replace the stock filter with a flat K&N, drill two holes through the bottom with a hole saw, connect one or two home vaccum hoses from both of the holes and attach to under the bumper at fhe front of the truck with vaccum scoops. I have this set up and works great! You're keeping heat out from the air filter and also ramming cooler air from the scoops and stock fender wall air inlet.

If you want to experiment, just wrap the top screened peace with heavy tin foil and see how you like it.

Or use the top for a templet and get a peace of sheetmetal or sheet aluminum for a hardware store and attach it the same way or attach it to the screen.
