hmm

i believe ford recommends to replace those bolts that hold the i/c to the mid plate. Hate to see one snap, especially if you've already possibly over torqued them

Those are not Torque to yield bolts. Ford recommends new gaskets but not new bolts.

BTW- If the gasket is expensive, I have a brand new set Ide be willing to part with.

How do you clean the intercooler:

Any type of degreaser should work fine since all your doing is cleaning the oil off the intercooler.

Is there power loss because of the oil:

Yes, since the oil is coating the intercooler the intercooler is not as efficient. The intercooler is nothing more then a radiator that is removing heat from the inrushing airflow. Since there is oil coating the fins on the intercooler it can not remove as much heat from the inrushing airflow.

I couldn’t tell you just how much power your loosing, it may not be much at all, but in any case it is power lose…

Sounds like you guys need an Oil Seperator. The vacuum line is pulling oil into itself which collects in your intercooler. I've had mine on for about 6 months and emptied it twice when it was half full.

LFP is the only place I know of to get one.
