LFP HE rubber flap addition mod

There is no provision for the stock protective rubber flap from the stock HE to change over to the aftermarket HE

What I did is add an aluminum cross member and drilled the respective holes to attach to the brakets that came with the after market HE. It all turned out well, I was initially going to TIG weld the cross member in place but I opted to use stainless bolts instead. It is providing an extra bit of security to that expensive aluminum piece above.

PS, I am trying to catch up to a statement Mr. Tim Skelton made to me once before. “It will take you ten life times to equal what I have contributed to this board” I am not sure about ten life times but I am sure it will take a while, I am trying
Its all good

Nice job on securing that "flap" back up there to protect the HE! Looks very professional! I'd like to do something yours!

When I put my HE on, I had the same concerns as you. So in a flash of inspiration (or loonacy), I put the flap back up with the standard push pin inserts on the cowl end and went and pulled a "stake" out of my rose bushes, cut it to the length of the HE bracket and put it through the bottom of the bracket and ran plastic ties through the holes in the flap to the "stake". Looks really "cheesy" but it's still holding up!

As long as it works; I have moments like that all the time.
