Predator Tunes

I'd like to know if the Predator tuner is as good as and as safe as a chip. Are there any problems with it? Downsides? Upsides? If I were to modify my truck, I think I'd rather use something like this rather than go scraping the grease off the computer for a chip. Any info please?

Bought my Predator from JLP back in May and my truck has never run better. Being able to adjust (+ or - 15%) timing and fuel delivery, review live data logging, adjust line pressure, shift points,...etc. helps to make this unit a top flight product.
