Most would agree the 4lb pulley is best overall. The 6lb will make more power but in summer might make less due to heat from blower. The 6lb pulley will make more torque and bring power on faster though.

Yes the pulley will void your warranty if you take truck in with it on.

FYI- Dont buy a caged pulley

well old school thinking was the 6# creates too much heat. However, new school thinking knows that the air flow is much greater once the Eaton is ported, thus reducing the heat generated.

However, if you have a stock eaton, the 6# does create a lot of heat on the top end, but off the line, you have much more torque.

I'd stick with a 4# for all around performance.

(I'm updating my mods, out with the 3#, in with a much bigger one )

I'll agree that a 4# pulley seems to be the optimum choice, but I have to add that a program change, like the Predator, will give you an increase in overall driveability that will offer the best bang for the buck. Do the pulley and then hustle the truck down to your local dyno shop to have the ECU re-programmed for the change. You won't regret it!

All the vendors have a chip, filter, pulley combo. And for a reason too! It's the best bang for the buck.

BTW: If your interested in longevity of the motor get the caged version. It came from Ford that way for a reason. FYI
If it's just a lease your gonna dump in 2 years then a non caged might make more sense $$ wise.

Installing a caged 2# pulley will provide instant seat of the pants rewards and is a whole lot more likely to slip past a technician at your local Ford dealer. Every 2# lower I've ever seen actually provides about 2.25 #s of extra boost. If the preservation of your 3/36 warranty is an issue, go with a caged unit.

If keeping the stock appearance is not an issue, go with the uncaged 4 or 5# pulley. A 6# pulley can cause overboosting in cold weather and had been known to cause some trucks with stock bottom ends to implode when the mercury drops.

I know quite a few guys who run a 4# lower with a 2# interchangeable upper. They run both during the summer months, then dump the 2# for a stock sized interchangeable during the winter.

You don't have to have mods to void warrantys.. Mine was voided because they found rubber under the truck from spinning the wheels..
