quick question....

How much hose should i buy for fabricating my own ram air off of a JLP box? Should I use both outlets and run two hoses? or just one? I'm goin to the 'depot as soon as I get the info, so what do you guys think? (HOw many feet do i need) I plan on having the hoses terminate right behind the lower grille next to the IC

i would say 4 ft. at least but you could do another ft. if the price is cheap. you only need one hose. 2 could get in the way of things. be expecting to clean your filter more often with the cool air setup. good luck and post pics when you are done

3 inch Id is hard to find at your local home depot.. ordered mine from flex exhaust a little more money than the plastic pipe but as good as a product you can buy. some one had a place to buy the plastic pipe on here try doing a search..

Ah, YA

I've had a few diff home made set ups now, one I used a
full 4" flexible tubing with but the amount of dirt, sand, rocks,
and small farm animals I kept finding in the filter box, made
me decide to go to a smaller, BUT SMOOTHER alternative.
I also wanted minimum bends, so I did it in 3" stainless.

You can go back to Home Depot and buy 3" Galvanized Flu
Pipe, (Smoke Pipe, the stuff you vent a Gas Hot Water Heater with) It's very Cheap, the pipe is usually in 2 ft length's and
can be cut easy, and the 90 degree Ell's can be made into
ANY ANGLE TURN, (they swival at 4 points creating any
possible degree of turn desired) and it's smooooooooooooth
for a better cleaner flow of air.

Simular to what you see here, except the Stainless I use I get for free and it comes in any desired length, so my set up is a simple
45 degree off the bottom of box, a straight 18" or 22" piece (I forget), then a 60 -80 degree bend off that.
THATS IT, short, minumum turns, and smoooooooooooooth.
You'd be amazed of the crap that makes it up there, including pretty good size rocks, so it obviously works well.........

I've been running it like this @ 2yrs now, AND NO it's never ever hit the wheel.
